Tourico Holidays Names Steve Caron VP of Vacation Rentals.
Vacation-Home Industry Expert to Head Rapidly Growing Vacation-Home Rental Business.

ORLANDO, Fla. April 24, 2013 Tourico Holidays, an innovative leader in travel wholesale, today announced the appointment of Steve Caron as Vice President of Vacation Rentals. Caron has more than 20 years of experience in the vacation-home rental business, and has managed tens-of-thousands of vacation rental properties throughout the world, as well as several online booking platforms servicing the industry.

Most recently, Caron was the Co-Founder and Vice President of Business Development for online vacation-rental business, Packlate.com, where he oversaw the technology development as well as all business development and supplier relationships. Prior to Packlate, Caron was the President of VRGateway, the then largest online marketplace for vacation rentals. Earlier in his career, he was CIO/CTO of ResortQuest International as well as Co-Founder of Sterling Resorts, the largest publicly traded and privately owned vacation rental management company in the U.S.

“There’s nobody in the travel industry that can rival Steve’s knowledge of the vacation-rental business,” said Uri Argov, CEO of Tourico Holidays. His experience in this particular industry is extremely rare and he will be a tremendous asset as we continue to globally scale our vacation-rental business to include unique destinations such as Poland, Thailand, Dubai, South Africa and Malta. I’m looking forward to working closely with Steve to advance the reach of our vacation-rental program into all areas of the world and building upon our early success.”

Since launching its vacation-rental business in 2010, Tourico Holidays has become the largest single provider of global vacation home inventory. The company offers inventory in three continents and hosts the deepest selection of vacation homes in top U.S. destinations such as Miami, Orlando, New York City, Las Vegas and Hawaii.

According to an independent study conducted by PhoCusWright, the U.S. vacation home rental market is estimated to be a $25 billion dollar industry, growing over the last several years despite a depressed economy. Moreover, according to PhoCusWright, the vacation home rental market equals 20 percent of all hotel room revenue in the United States, and 8 percent of total U.S. travel spend.

“Vacation home rentals have quickly become a popular alternative to hotels for many travel bargain hunters because of their tremendous value,” said Arnold Walter, President & CEO for FareBuzz.”Working with Tourico Holidays, we have access to thousands of vacation homes around the world at our fingertips. Having a partner that can provide us with immediate, high-quality inventory that fits a range of traveler tastes definitely gives our agency a unique edge on the competition.”

HOW-TO add job description

HOW-TO add job description

Here you would need to setup a new page (if there isn’t already one with this information for the same position) and this is another piece of cake to celebrate a short birthday.

In case you have not logged-in yet, go to the Log-in site and use the username and password given to you by the Marketing Team. Once you log-in, you can choose one of these two options to reach to the right page:

  • Pass the mouse over where it says (+ New) and a drop-down menu will appear. Click on “Page”, or
  • Stay on the site you are taken to after logging-in, pass the mouse over where it says “Pages” and the rollover menu will appear. Click on “Add New”. CALL ME CRAZY ONE MORE TIME but the first option seems a bit more user friendly and straight to the point ;)

IMPORTANT: You can save your new pages before publishing them by clicking on a button on the right side of the screen where it says “Save Draft“.

Follow these steps:

  • Write the job title on the top where is says “Enter Title Here”.
  • Write the same title on the first line of the content box including the work “Position:” before this title, and make just that word bold. Select this title again and click on “Format” on the tools bar and select “Heading 2
  • You can type all the information bellow this title. I pretty much set it up as similar to Microsoft Word as possible.

There are two things you need to add at the end of each “Job Description”: “Apply for this job” and “Go Back”.

Once you write these two lines, select “Apply for this job” line, go to the “chain” I told you about previously (see image bellow) and once the little pop-up window opens and copy & paste the URL where the applicant would have to go to to apply for the position.

Now select the second line (“Go Back”) and do the same things you did previously, but this time paste /career-opportunities/.

Once you are done with this page, go ahead and click on “Publish” blue button n the right side of the editing window. Copy this URL, go back to the Career Opportunities site, select “View Job Descriptions“, click on the “chain” and paste the Job Description’s URL here.

Something else you can to make it faster and easier, copy and paste this and use it as a model:

Position: Title goes here

Location: Location goes here

Position Overview:

  • In case you want list.

Subtitle goes here as “Requirements”, “Experience”, or Whatever:

Info goes here

Apply for this job

Go Back

The last STEPS YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW are:

  • Search on the right column (when in the edit area) for a section titled: Page Attributes. Click on the drop-down called “Parent” and choose “Careers
  • Now click on the drop-down menu right below Parent and select “General Page without Column Template“. Not following these steps may keep you from finishing this.

AND YOU ARE DONE! Got any questions? either see the screenshots bellow or email me: juan.alonso(at)TouricoHolidays.com

HOW-TO Update Career Opportunities.

HOW-TO Update Career Opportunities.

It is easy and quick to update the “Career Opportunities” site, just follow these steps and Voilà.

Go to the  Log-in site and use the username and password given to you by the Marketing Team. Once you log-in, you can choose one of these two options to reach to the right page:

  • Visit https://login.touricoholidays.com/career-opportunities/ once you are logged-in and click on the button on the top of the page that says “Edit Post”, or
  • Stay on the site you are taken to after logging-in, Click where it says “Posts” on the left column, once it opens, go to the search box and type “career opportunities” and it will show it to you on the list below this search box. Click on the title and it will take you to where you edit this post. CALL ME CRAZY but the first option seems a bit more user friendly and straight to the point 😉

Once you are on the editable side of the page, scroll down and you will find the companies we represent. You place the new careers below the title. One thing I would seriously recommend to make it easier for you is to COPY and PASTE this:

Asia Pacific Product Regional Manager
Starting Date: TBD       Term: Permanent
view job description

Edit the title of the position, the “starting Date” and “Term”.

Once you are done pasting and updating the information about this position, copy it (the one you just made), look for the place where you see the position title and paste it right below it. See the screenshot below for more details.

What about “view job description”?

Here is where some extra work comes up. Select all that blue line where you read “View job description” and click on icon that looks like a broken chain located next to the “Align Right” button on the toolbar on top of the content (see screenshot below). This will turn this into black and it will not be linked to anything.
