Leading Travel Wholesaler Passes Ancillary Product Discounts on to Clients

Orlando, Fla. – Sep 30 2014 – Tourico Holidays, a leading travel wholesaler, today announced that it has introduced two new sales programs that are designed to pass profit margins on ancillary products directly to clients. The “25+ Series” and the “Ancillary VIP Program” offer partners profits of up to 70% on activities, attractions and transfers.

The “25+ Series” compiles and localizes Tourico Holidays’ most popular activities based on a specific destination. The user-friendly list is updated monthly and every product affords clients a minimum profit margin of 25%. Current activities include the Warwick Castle in London and the Miami Open City Tour – Hop-on/Hop-off Bus Tour with 40% profit each, the Shop & Shuttle – Woodbury in New York with 44%, and Dave & Buster’s, which has locations all across the US, with 37%.

The “Ancillary VIP Program” is an incentivized program that offers any client that books over $10,000 in ancillary products through Tourico’s Activities XML Connectivity even further reduced prices. Once the $10,000 threshold has been reached, Tourico cuts its own margin and allows the client to earn up to 70% profit on products sold.

“Tourico Holidays has one of the largest inventories of activities, attractions, and transfers in the travel industry – including more than 5,400 activities and attractions, and over 3,300 transfer options in 937 cities around the world,” said Ofir Cohen, Executive Vice President of Global Activities and Groups for Tourico Holidays. “By creating these programs and marking down prices on our massive inventory, our partners can increase their margins and still offer their clients the best prices in the industry.”

Tourico Holidays offers a diverse selection of activities and attractions that range from the bizarre to the incredible. Travelers can choose to go bull riding in the Fort Worth Stockyards, shark cage diving in South Africa, skydiving in Prague, spelunking in Iceland, or bioluminescent kayaking in Puerto Rico. With this vast inventory at their fingertips, travel agents and online retailers can find the right fit for every client.

“Activities and transfers is a $64 billion dollar global market,” said Cohen. “80% of vacationers shop for their travel activities online and now secondary sellers can use our massive and discounted inventory to widen their margins – or win new business by passing along the savings to their customers.”

Clients interested in participating in these programs may contact their regional sales manager directly or visit the Tourico Holidays booth GV240 at World Travel Market in London from November 3 – 6. As part of the yearlong 20th anniversary celebration, Tourico Holidays is also giving away “free attractions for a year.” To take part in the competition visit: www.touricoholidays.com/20years

Wholesale Travel Company Prepares Lone Star State for Growing Travel Demand.

ORLANDO, Fla. – September 11, 2014 – Tourico Holidays, a global leader in wholesale travel brokerage, today announced that it will be launching a series of product roadshows for travel suppliers in Texas that are intended to provide insight on Tourico travel products and share best practices for growing sales in the area.

The workshops will be kicked-off on September 15 in Fort Worth and Dallas, where Tourico executives will introduce new products and strategies for growth to the hoteliers and travel providers in attendance.  The next workshops in the series are scheduled to take place in Austin and San Antonio on September 16. The final Texas workshop will take place in Houston on September 17.

“These product roadshows give us an opportunity to work more closely with our existing Texas hotel suppliers and to discuss where we can help them increase sales,” said Neil Emerson, Senior Vice President of Product Development for Tourico Holidays. “It’s also an opportunity for us to reach new suppliers in the region and introduce them to our technology – and explain how we can connect them with travelers from around the world.”

According to Texas tourism data, domestic visitation to Texas increased by 6% in 2013 with 233.5 million travelers and international travelers visiting Texas increased by 10% in 2013. Specifically, Texas hotels collected an estimated $8.8 billion in revenues in 2013 and they are expected to continue their revenue growth in 2014.

“The hospitality industry in Texas is steadily growing as both domestic and international travel is on the rise,” Emerson said. “We want to help hoteliers from the state embrace the demand and be better positioned to compete in a surging marketplace.”

Tourico Holidays evaluates Europeans’ booking behavior.

Orlando, August 20 2014 – The leading travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays has analyzed the booking behavior of its European customers and found that travel to the United States is becoming increasingly popular. With 8% of all European bookings, New York has moved up from third to second place among the world’s most visited cities and is now almost neck and neck with Paris, which also received 8% of bookings. Third and fourth place on the list of most visited cities go to London with 7% (dropping from second place in 2013) and Amsterdam with 4%, which jumped up two spots compared to its sixth place ranking last year. Las Vegas is new to the top 5 list with 4% of all bookings, rising from tenth to fifth place. Orlando also experienced improvement, moving from fifteenth to twelfth place. Cities that fell from the top 5 list of the most popular destinations in comparison to the previous year are Rome, dropping from fourth to ninth place, and Madrid, which is now number eight after finishing fifth in 2013.

Experts at Tourico Holidays think North America’s increased popularity is likely due to the fact that the USA has become an increasingly more affordable travel destination. In 2013, visitors could expect to pay about 227 USD for an overnight stay in New York City; currently, these rates have dropped to about 219 USD. Prices in Las Vegas and Orlando have dropped from 123 to 117 USD and 98 to 81 USD a night, respectively.

The travel wholesaler’s leading source markets in 2014 are Spain, UK, Italy, Germany, and Romania. However, the largest growth came from other markets; booking numbers have increased by 30% in France and 63% in Switzerland.

Tourico Holidays conducted their analysis by comparing data from the first two quarters of 2013 and 2014. Tourico Holidays leads the wholesale travel industry in big data, collecting hundreds of individual travel metrics since 2004. The travel wholesaler currently receives 90 million searches daily from nearly 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries worldwide. Utilizing proprietary business intelligence and cutting edge data warehouse applications, Tourico Holidays is able to provide clients with superior reporting to support fast and precise decisions.
