The Tourico Holidays Travel Academy Welcomes Inaugural Class in January 2014

ORLANDO, Fla. – September 25, 2013 – Building its brand among the next generation of college graduates, Tourico Holidays today announced its new educational venture: the Tourico Holidays Travel Academy. This travel industry-focused development program offers an exclusive opportunity for ambitious, business-minded graduates to gain a competitive edge in a travel and tourism career.

Launching in January 2014, the Tourico Holidays Travel Academy accepts 30 applicants per 10-week session and runs 4 sessions per year. The program grows leaders in key areas taught by executives, experienced travel professionals, and highly-qualified guest professors in the classroom; but it also provides exposure to the glamorous side of the travel industry through jet-setting field trips, hands-on projects and applicable workshops. Interested students must apply online and go through an interview process for selection into the program.

Similar to various Fortune 500 leadership development programs, this intensive training thoroughly prepares students for a career with Tourico Holidays. From the start of the program, students receive full benefits, base pay, housing, meal plan, laptops, cell phones and transportation and entertainment in the Orlando area. Upon completion, graduates interview for positions in Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Operations. Successful students are placed in a position based on their skills, personality and fit for culture. Every fully qualified and successful student will receive a job offer to join the Tourico Holidays team.

“Second only to education, the travel and tourism industry is the largest supplier of jobs worldwide with 1 in 12 jobs being travel related,” notes Tourico Holidays Founder and CEO, Uri Argov, “Today’s sad reality is that 1 in 11 recent college graduates face unemployment. The Tourico Holidays Travel Academy bridges the gap and sets a precedent for Tourico Holidays and the Travel Industry. Not only does this program give graduates the tools and training they need to succeed within our company, it also ensures our partners are benefiting from highly trained representatives in every department.”

The new post-graduate academy is launching a full scale university partnership campaign to collaborate with professors and recruit students in business, economic and entrepreneurial majors. Anyone interested in promoting or participating in the program can visit the Academy’s website.

LastMinuteTravel.com Survey Reveals…

LastMinuteTravel.com Survey Reveals
it’s All Work and No Play for Americans

When it comes to Vacation Days, the Premier Online Travel Site Makes it Easy and Affordable for Consumers to Use “Em not Lose Em”.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (June 21, 2010) − Last Minute Travel, the premier online travel booking site, is encouraging Americans to break the habit of not using all of their hard-earned vacations days and get online now as today marks the first day of summer. A new survey by LastMinuteTravel.com finds that close to half (45%) of working Americans did not maximize their vacation days in 2009; in fact, 39 percent admitted to losing 10 or more of those days. As we reach the halfway point of 2010, the survey finds that more than three-quarters (78%) of Americans plan to repeat this trend by leaving their paid vacation days on the table.

According to the survey, reasons for lost vacation days is that many find it difficult to take time away from work, coordinate family schedules or they cannot afford a “real vacation.” Nonetheless, working Americans yearn for time off and fantasize about the type of vacation they would take, time and money permitting: close to four in ten (35%) would choose a beach destination where they can relax and unwind; 19 percent would opt for an all-inclusive cruise; 16 percent would go to a family (theme-park) destination; and 15 percent would take a road trip across the country.

Survey Says: Americans Are Experiencing A Case of All Work and No Play:

Lost Moments: On average, Americans have more than half (58%) of their time off waiting to be enjoyed.

Costly Timing: More than half (51%) say that it’s just too difficult to coordinate schedules with family and friends while 30 percent rarely find the time to plan ahead to take time off.

The Busier the No Better: Some admit it is more about their jobs and less about personal situations. Almost half (47%) of those not planning to use all of their vacation days this year gripe that they’re simply too busy on the job to take time off. Others (29%) fear there would be too much work to catch up on when they return.

Money Matters: Four in ten (40%) confess they simply can’t afford a “real vacation.” More parents than non-parents (47% vs. 34%) who don’t plan on using all of their vacation days blame the inability to afford a vacation as the reason they’ll be left with paid time off when 2010 comes to and end.

LastMinuteTravel.com is enticing Americans to use “em or lose em” by making it easier and more affordable for consumers to put their hard earned vacation days to use. The site boasts unbeatable hotel prices, airlines and cruise deals, as well as a robust activities section that encompasses the world’s most popular destinations.

LastMinuteTravel.com offerings and services make vacation planning easy:

Travel Holdings, Inc.
Announces Strong Financial Results for 2009

Global Wholesale Travel Brokerage Company Continues to Grow, Add More Employees.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (May 3, 2010) – While much of the travel industry spent the last year working to recover from a down economy, Travel Holdings, Inc., continued to experience tremendous growth. The global wholesale travel brokerage company today announced its financial results for 2009, further establishing itself as a broker capable of delivering positive revenue results for its hotelier partners.

The company’s financial results for 2009 included the following:

  • A 16 percent increase in the total number of room nights booked over 2008
  • A 2 percent increase in top line revenue
  • A 23 percent increase in employee base, adding 106 new professionals to its staff worldwide
  • 2.5 million travel customers
  • An average of 43 travel searches per second on the company’s servers
  • An investment of $5 million in its technology, as the company has done for each of the last several years

Additionally, Travel Holdings delivered an average of $8.3 million per month to the hotel companies it partners with to provide deep discounts to travelers who book via the company’s online properties, TouricoHolidays.com, LastMinuteTravel.com and EasyClickTravel.com.

“Last year, while other companies made major structural downsizings due to their shrinking top lines, we were not only able to maintain our previous year’s top lines, but actually grew them by 2 percent,” states Bob Fischer, CFO for Travel Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Tourico Holidays, LastMinuteTravel.com and EasyClickTravel.com. “We also increased our total number of room nights by 16 percent and increased our employee base by 23 percent, while maintaining a healthy EBITDA, which is unheard-of in 2009, especially in the travel sector. When it comes to discretionary expenses, our philosophy continues to run ‘lean and mean’ implementing automation wherever possible to maintain a low cost per transaction and continued development of sophisticated data mining tools, as well as yield management automation to be utilized as our crystal ball to success. In our ever-changing environment, we have found the secret formula to achieving growth complemented by profits.”

The company is looking ahead to an even more robust set of results for 2010, as it is projecting to finish the year with $500 million in top-line revenue while providing travel services to more than 3.5 million consumers − which would mark a 40 percent increase in that number from 2009..
