As of June 8th, 2017, travel wholesalers, Hotelbeds Group and Tourico Holidays, have finalized the deal that brings Tourico Holidays under the umbrella of Hotelbeds Group. While the integration process is fully completed, both businesses will continue to operate as normal. Integration plans are already under development to combine the two in different stages.
In the go forward, both businesses will have access to clients and partners of each, same applies to services and technology solutions as we approach different stages of the integration process.
Uri Argov, former CEO and founder of Tourico Holidays has decided to retire, but will remain a shareholder of the combined company. In his place, Asi Ginio, former COO of Tourico Holidays, will step in as Tourico Holidays new CEO, until both companies reach full integration.
Following today’s announcement, GTA will soon be joining Hotelbeds Group. This new deal will be subject to its own regulatory approval process and integration timeline; for the time being, GTA will remain working independently from Hotelbeds Group.
“This deal expands our footprint in the important North American market and – along with our plans also for GTA to join us – forms part of our strategy to accelerate the growth of our business,” said Joan Vila, executive chairman of Hotelbeds Group.
