ORLANDO, Fla. – March 25, 2014 – Tourico Holidays, the international travel wholesaler, announces a new business entity focusing on group sales. Hiring 6 experienced travel professionals in 2013, Tourico Holidays laid the foundation for revitalizing its group travel business. These new leaders are tasked with expanding group travel to make up 10% of Tourico Holidays’ total revenue. To grow 150% in year one, Tourico will focus on destinations in North America and select European cities and clients from Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

Tourico Holidays has set up a self-sustained department that will handle all aspects of group travel, including contractors, accounting, sales, etc. They will offer every kind of group travel, from ad-hoc and series to coach, cruise, and MICE travel. The company is also heavily investing in technology and will soon launch a cutting-edge group travel bidding engine.

Tourico Holidays began as a group travel provider. During its 20-year history, the company shifted its focus to the prosperous individual tourism sector (FIT – Free Independent Travelers), earning $1B dollars in sales. “It’s fitting that in our 20th year, we are revisiting our roots as a group travel organization,” states Ofir Cohen, VP of Strategic Product Development. “We hired industry veterans who will use Tourico’s technical resources and global reach to offer partners fast response time, quality service and precision operations.”

Federico Fava is the new Director of Sales for Groups in the EUMEA Region. Fava is an Italian native and highly specialized in international trade, and brings 8 years of experience in the tourism industry to the team.

Michael Gough is the new Director of Tour Series and Packages. He brings over 12 years of valuable experience in group travel to the team.

Dean Leggett is the newest member of the London Group Operation Team. Has had led the EUME Group Operations since December 9, 2013. He began his career in 1999 at GTA/Kuoni, where he worked his way up from Operations Manager to Operations Executive.

Yves Fore joins Tourico as the new Director of Product – Groups. He brings over 20 years of experience in both tour operations and the hotel industry.

Simona Fargnoli-McGrover is the new Director Group Operation for the Orlando team and will focus on the Americas. During her 22-year career in the travel industry, she specialized herself in international inbound markets, mostly from Europe.

Tourico Holidays Travel Academy welcomes inaugural class in January 2014.

ORLANDO, FL (USA) – December 16, 2013 – Global wholesaler Tourico Holidays is launching a Travel Academy in January, offering industry-focused training for ambitious, business-minded college graduates. Selected applicants have the unique chance to gain a competitive edge and kick start a career in the travel industry. The Travel Academy is an important part of Tourico’s growth strategy; through the support and development of young talent, the company aims to soar to new levels of success.

The first Tourico Holidays Travel Academy class will begin in January 2014.
Thirty applicants are accepted for each of the four quarterly 10-week sessions throughout the year. Those interested in participating must first apply online then pass a series of interviews and assessments before being selected for the program. Growing leaders in key areas, the program is taught by executives, experienced travel professionals and highly-qualified guest professors. The curriculum focuses on negotiation management, problem-solving skills, user training for various software programs, presentation planning, and project implementation in the travel industry. The program not only provides insight into relevant theories, but also exposes students to the exciting side of the travel industry through jet-setting field trips, hands-on projects, and applicable workshops.

The intensive training provides the perfect basis for beginning a career at Tourico Holidays. From the first day of class, students receive full support, including a base salary, accommodation, laptops and access to various activities in the Orlando area. Upon completion, graduates interview for positions primarily in product development but potentially in sales, marketing, and operations.  Successful students will be placed in positions best suited to their skills and personality. Every fully qualified and successful student receives a job offer to join the Tourico Holidays team.

One of the first participants in the Travel Academy is Eleonora Penna. After completing her Marketing studies in her home country of Italy, she moved to the U.S. to study International Management at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Travel has always been a passion of hers and inspired her to search for relevant training programs in the industry. When asked about her experiences while searching for the right program, Eleonora Penna said: “Only few companies have strong and interesting programs like the Academy at Tourico Holidays. I believe that the Academy will give me the right negotiation, presentation, and marketing skills that I will need to be able to grow with and within Tourico Holidays and to develop a great career path into the travel and tourism industry.”

International Travel Wholesaler Expands Business to France.
Tourico Holidays Opens a New Office in Paris.

Paris/Orlando – November 15 2013 – The innovative travel wholesaler Tourico Holidays continues its expansion plans by opening a new office in Paris for its French Sales and Product Development team.

Julien Kuchenbuch, Regional Director of Product Development, has been chosen to head the new office and has worked for Tourico Holidays in Paris for many years now. Members of his team include Christophe Jacquat and Orna Baily Gibson, both acting Product Managers of Paris, and Jean Francois, Product Manager of France. Francois will be working from outside of Paris, based closely to the city of Lyon. Sales are under the direction of Astrid Simo, Sales Manager for France.

With this new office, Tourico Holidays aims to increase the growth of France as a destination by 75% in 2014. The market share already grew by 16% in 2012, and has so far grown by 55% in 2013. It’s also the travel wholesaler’s goal to increase its client base in France by 50%. To ensure this growth, Tourico Holidays plans to double the number of existing contracts with hotels. In 2013 alone, 20 new partnerships have been secured with French tour operators and travel resellers, all of whom trust the travel wholesaler with their hotels, activities, and car rentals.

Tourico Holidays’ veteran, Matias Elisavetsky, already based in Toronto, will lead the Product Development Team.
